I am toying with the idea of giving experience for logs. If that is the case I will be giving one experience point for each log posted. As is common, you will only gain benefit of one log per week, with any second log providing a "push" into the next week, and further logs not adding to the total.

However, if I do this I will be reducing the experience point totals given in game. Can't be giving you too much after all.

Er, if you're going to do it as a zero sum game, I'd prefer no points for logs. That way, if I don't have time to do one that week, I'm not getting penalized for it.

Log rewards are, I think, wise. It gives everyone incentive to write them and develop their character.

I'd suggest a breakdown kind of like this:
Arrow 1 point for showing up and playing.
Arrow 1 point for advancing the plot / being exceptional in some way.
Arrow 1 point for the "question" part.
Question 1 point for combat?
Arrow 1 point for a log.

That way, you could still get up to 4 points per week if you do well, or 5 if there's a combat game. Keeps it kind of in-line with GvE that way, too. Though I don't know if you want to do that or not.

Edit: Hm. Ross makes an interesting point, too. I dunno now. Wink

I'm with Ross on this one. It's sometimes tough enough finding time to write a GvE log (which is why I often end up writing it as a 'getting into character' exercise shortly before the sim), finding the time to do the same with BT will be a challenge.

However, I'd not be adverse to giving out points for logs if the person wasn't able to make the sim that week to keep them from falling too far behind.

I like that idea. If you're unable to attend a game, then you can earn up to three xp by writing a log - I'll award xp to logs depending on how interesting they are and how much effort went into them. Yeah, that sounds good. I'd still like to see logs once in awhile from those who attend regularily, though ^_-

Perhaps I'll run with that.

we could make it a little easier, if a person isn't able to attend, we could hint at what the character might be doing, and then the player can read the transcript and fill us in on what happened with a log
