He watched the map populate. It was a full colour topographic map of the Karaq Wastes, badlands cities sprouted up like little flowers in the terraced soils while raider activity bloomed like the weeds between them. There were far too many weeds in this garden, he mused.
Far too many indeed. Talon 05 had reported definite Earther presence as well, in one of the westernmost locations - that flowr bloomed red while the others were yellow or orange, depending on severity. That was worrisome. How many of these were important? How many involved the NEC? Gotah checked his PDA and commanded,
"Remove a random 15% of the low priority raid sites."
Several flowers withered, but the garden still choked with the weeds. That removed an appropriate number of raid sites - the activity in the region had spiked enormously. "Reset." he commanded. The image shimmered and several sites returned.
He sat at the table and rested his chin in a hand, his upper torso mired in the trideo display. Eye level with the raiders, he squinted, as if he looked close enough the hologram might have tiny battle frames or hovertanks that would give the Earthers away. No such luck. "What are you doing here? Why are you telegraphing so much?"
Gotah sat back and sighed, pushing the rolling chair back to the main computer terminal. there were more reports to sift through, and maybe one of them would give him another clue. He hoped so.
