Alright you guys here's the skinny.

I was told by Jester, who was told by Colin that I must come up with a list of things that the Spider will hold for us to take on our trip.

So far I have personal equipment that everyone and some food. Once we set up what we're taking I'll decide what kind of ammo to take with us and what mission equipment we should take.

So what are your ideas that you want in the spider?

I could use this information before Wednesday the 15th of April. I'll be submitting my request to Colin then, and could use your input before then instead of at the last second!

Thanks guys.

That's a bit of a tall order, considering we have no idea what will be expected of us yet, and we still have no word on what supplies the Utopians can provide us with vs. what we'll have to bring ourselves.

Also, IMO, keeping a low profile is VERY important on this mission. If we can pull this off without the CEF finding out that the Talons have made it to Utopia, I'd call that a serious plus in our column.

As I understand it, we are here to seek intelligence and play at being diplomats a bit., to hopefully get out of here with valuable information on what the CEF is up to here, who our allies are, and who our enemies are. Double points for negotiating exchange of technology.

That would make our equipment priorities:

1: Intelligence gathering, including computers, surveilance equipment, bugs, wire taps, etc.

2: Trade goods, ranging from Birkin's Booze to Detro's Porn to engineering databases. In fact, I would go so far to say that at some point, our allies should get blueprints on the Fury, so we have spare parts for Pathfinder if need be. (Or upgrades, heh.)

3: A ready supply of SDGs for all gears and vehicles, minimum 1 per vehicle, to ensure that if someone pulls a Detro, the gear can be destroyed beyond identification.

4: Non-gear things the Utopians can't provide. Certain medicines? Repair parts? Ammunition? BDU patch kits? Restraining straps for Delgado and Roland? (j/k)

I say non-gear because it seems to me that we should consider using the Spider more, terrain providing. It would also make sense if TN and Utopia could start making repair parts for the other's equipment, to allow for better joint operations.

Beyond that, is a 9mm bullet the same on TN vs. Utopia? Do the Utopians even have the ability to supply us a little?

Again, going in blind here when it comes to the Utopians. And yeah, we can't do anything about most of that. ::shrug:: My two cents, adjusted for inflation.

That's the point. You don't know what you're going in to. Neither do Caelin or Scildfreja, either. They have guesses as to what will be asked of you by the Council, but they don't really know for certain.

All Dark Gears are equipped with self destruct equipment that will destroy the sensitive equipment in the Gears. It's good you thought of this, though, glad someone's thinking it through. And the in-system capture protection is just going to destroy data and sensitive systems, it's not going to blow up the Gear.

Caelin and Scildfreja say that they can provide you with ammunition and the like if they're given some warning and the time to produce them, but they don't use 9mm rounds standard. They use an 10mm armour-piercing flechette, generally.

Captain Tynes has been given authorization to give blueprints and autofac specs on Gear production in exchange for the active camoflauge technology. That kind of stuff will be left in the Pathfinder. We don't know how these people are going to react to us and walking in with our big ticket item for them to confiscate for "environmental inspections." We're going in with our gears and the spider, and that's enough potential exposure for me.

Giving them access to Pathfinder spec might be a good idea, but at the same time its a CEF design to begin with, they might already have the specs on file.

Any TerraNovan media that we might have will be going with us. My booze, and if Detro really has porn then yes that too provided we don't already know that stuff is shunned from Freja and Caelin.

Delgado will have a full medical kit, Roland will have his sniper rifle of choice, and I will have a grenade launcher. Everyone else will have a standard rifle or a BIL. Everyone with skill 2 or higher (better be everyone god dammit) will have a side arm.

Needs more input.
